Borland C++ 5.5.1 not auto-detected

Not being auto-detected isn't that bad a problem. I set a few paths and compiled the hello world that appears when starting a new console app project; it compiled and ran ok. Has anyone made a list of everything that should be set for this compiler? To know it is set up properly will give me greater confidence as I get established with the IDE.
