[Feature request] Maximise/restore the current file tab
« on: July 29, 2020, 01:42:19 am »
When you have multiple files arranged in the editor (screenshot A) it would be nice (essential imho) to be able to maximise the current file (screenshot B) and restore it back when you're ready (screenshot A again).

- Double clicking a file tab maximises the whole editor, not an individual file
- Fullscreen hides the window title bar but doesn't change the layout of files in the editor
- Perspectives let you hide UI elements but doesn't change the layout of files in the editor

I'd like a button that toggles between screenshot A and B.

To go from A to B in these screenshots ("maximise") I manually dragged each filetab next to main.c's tab. To go from B back to A ("restore") I would have to manually drag the filetabs to re-create the original layout.

Because this is impractical, I can imagine working exclusively in either single-file mode or multi-file mode within a project and never switching between them. I may well have missed something, because this seems a fairly basic feature.

Thanks!

How do you inline images? Last attempt.
