installing 20.03 on devuan(debian 10 equivalent)
« on: April 05, 2020, 09:43:32 am »
Questions on howto do as it says in the title.

I currently have 17.12svn11872 installed (from distro).

I've downloaded the binary for codeblocks_20.03_amd64_stable.tar.xz from FossHUB and extracted it's contents.

Am now sitting with the current (older) installed version, a bunch of compressed .deb's, and want to upgrade(or clean)install 20.03.

I cannot find guidelines for upgrading or any clear howto on installing the bunch of compressed .debs.

Can anyone pls tell me how to go about it?

https://askubuntu.com/questions/40779/how-do-i-install-a-deb-file-via-the-command-line

For cb to work you need to pass *.deb on the command line.
My experience shows that debian based distros are getting confused and cannot replace an old install, so I'll first try to uninstall everything related to cb (which I don't know how to do with a single command).
(most of the time I ignore long posts)

thx, oBFusCATed
(I wanted to make sure there are no gotcha's :)

Went ahead and did a clean install, and if  I'm not back in the forums later, all is fine ...
