I'm using C::B 17.12 (official release). I created a default C++ project with the following main
.cpp file:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
cout << "Hello world!" << endl;
return 0;
}
When I tried to build it, I get the following linker error:
obj\Debug\main.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized
collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Here is the complete build log:

An analogous default C project was built just fine. Also, when I type
g++ in my system command line the command is recognized and I have a correct C++ compiler executable chosen in "Toolchain executables" (g++.exe). The main.cppp file has compiler variable set to
CPP.
What might be the reason of such behavior?! For me it seems like C::B is invoking
gcc instead of
g++...
