Missing Menu Bar
« on: November 01, 2011, 07:05:22 pm »
I have Ubuntu 11.04.

I have tried installing Code::Blocks both from the Ubuntu Software Center and from the sudo method at:

http://www.sci.brooklyn.cuny.edu/~goetz/codeblocks/

In each case, the menu bar is missing from the Code::Blocks IDE.

I tried removing gnome-globalmenu-common based on a suggestion from another forum, but Ubuntu was unable to locate it.

How can I view the menu bar?

Thank you,
Tom

Update your ubuntu and espcially wxGTK, because there was a bug in wxGTK related with the new style of menus in Unity.

Correction:  I have Ubuntu 11.10

I have tried all the updates, but the menu bar is still missing.  Any other ideas?

What is you wxGTK version?
Today I've installed C::B debugger's branch from Jens' repo on Ubuntu 11.10 and it worked perfectly.
Here is the repo: http://apt.jenslody.de/
No problems with the menu.

I have wx-config version 2.8.12.

Also, I found that the Code::Blocks menu does appear if I run Ubuntu with the gnome shell instead of unity.

Have you tried a nightly build from Jens' repo? I've not tried 10.05 and I don't know it works.
