About the LOGO ELECTION
« on: May 03, 2010, 07:59:24 am »
Now that you know there exists some cheaters on board, why not remove these votes and recount the champion?
These cheaters must share something in common:newly registered and voted.
I think it's easy to find out such votes and I wish the C::B team do not compromise!

Deal all,
voting has closed. However, it's a pity to notice that we had some cheaters on-board. It's really sad to see that, but as everybody has the same rights/possibilities and a lot users voted the results are accepted.

So, Why not "remove" all the cheaters' votes?

PS: I really hate cheaters!!!!! I have just lost 1000 RMB by a cheater.
If some piece of memory should be reused, turn them to variables (or const variables).
If some piece of operations should be reused, turn them to functions.
If they happened together, then turn them to classes.

Then why accept cheating?
Do you want to lose 10000 RMB next time?

@ylm

I personally suggest that the best logo is "otaco + yours", I like the SVN numbers and the web links in your design Re: C::B LOGO ELECTIONS, So, why not try to mix the two.

Also, Thanks for the logo designer's contribution!!!!

Look: (Probably I shouldn't have started this at all):
An unusual amount of new accounts have been created just for the voting. In my opinion this is weird and a bit unfair, I would have wished that long-term (registered) users vote more in contrast to new accounts. Notice, that is only me.

Nevertheless: There are exceptions (JGM's wife), of course, but you cannot differ between them. In the end everybody had the same options and as we live in a democracy the result matters and is OK. (Its really OK with me!)

Let's stop these discussions and prepare the release now. :D

To "ollydbg":Sorry for misunderstanding your opinion at the third floor...
I suggest we stop arguing about the logo but try to contribute to C::B in the future :)

To "MortenMacFly":
Distinguishing the cheaters from the rest is easy:
Find out their login IP addresses to see if the locations are in the same city(for newly registered accounts only) :P

This is still not reliably.

jgm and his wife surely had an IP from the same provider (most likely the same IP) and one account is "old" and one is new.

Have a suggestion, given the current controversy:
Perhaps we can re-vote the top two, the time limit for three days?

I mean to compare "new" accounts only, not to compare all accounts.
jgm's wife has little chance to be in the same city with the other new accounts(probably cheaters) since the total vote amount is small.

The solutions is easy: If asking the community doesn't work because some people feel like they have to cheat, then the team will have to make its decision on its own without asking the community. Sad, but such is life.

EDIT: Having said that, I completely missed that poll.

Perhaps not deciding completely on its own, but asking for opinions. Not a poll in any case.

I read about it too late. Imho, It could be longer the debate period, for a next time.

Btw, it's nice to see that there isn't quite enough for the new release (for those asking for a new release, lol). At least the new artwork is already present in the svn version:

Best regards :)
