where can I find the necessary zip program, please name, version and link if possible.

Depends on what you need it for, which OS, you have and ...

A little more information would be really helpful.

Nevertheless look here, if you search for a commandline zip-tool for windows (on all major linux distros it should be easily installable) that is compatible with C::B's update batch-files: http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=Nightly_Cookbook#Zip .

Today's OS WinXP, tried to use bzip2, wiz503, not sure they suited, fisrt got uknown option, second has windows interface,...

Thanks, found zip232 source, may be it is what I'm seeking...

All OK, second link to zip on given site  http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/infozip/zip232.zip
directly gave the necessary source. I have built it for w32 and that's all.
