[Feature Request] better filename in build msgs
« on: February 17, 2010, 06:59:28 am »
Is it possible for the file name column in the build messages panel to show, well, the file name?  With libraries like wxwidgets and boost the actual name of the file is never visible with how long the full path is.  How about we change that to making it the ONLY thing visible.  You can already hover the mouse over the name to get its full path, which is useFUL, but when not hovering over it the field is useLESS to me.  Maybe consider making this a togglable option if there are any legitimate reasons to keep its current behaviour?  Thanks.

The hovering feature you mentioned doesn't work for me (only rev 5892 though, Ubuntu 9.04, 64 bit). And having only the leaf name would be pretty bad for projects, that contain multiple files with the same name (even with the hover feature working).

How about "right aligning" the file name instead, so that the ... would be on the left side, if the name doesn't fit?

Id be happy with that.   Im currently using revision 6136 on Win7.   Gonna download 5892 and see if the hovering really was a recent addition...
