Slow text selection
« on: June 02, 2009, 03:06:39 pm »
Hello all,

I am using CodeBlocks 8.02 on a Ubuntu 9.04 computer. I am using a Windows XP workstation to display my Ubuntu screen using a Windows XServer (Xming or Cygwin). I am using XDMCP to build the X connection between Ubuntu and Windows.
Everything works fine except one point which is annoying:
In a CodeBlock text editor window, the text selection is very slow. If I select a text area, I have to wait for several seconds between the mouse button release and the display of the selected area in grey!
I have the same problem with Xming (6.9) or Cygwin (1.5.3) X Server on the Windows PC
If I do the same test locally on the Ubuntu box, I don't have the problem.

Selecting a text area in another text editor (like nedit for instance) with the same display does not show this problem.

Is there someone aware of this problem?
Is there any solutions?

Thank's for any answers

Emmanuel

Yes (same on my system, Ubuntu 9.04 and XMing/Windows XP @ 1000 Mbit network).
No (no idea why it happens with Code::Blocks and no other program).
